Airport Plaza
Town of Babylon, New York

The Fairchild "Airport Plaza" project was a multi-phased program to convert an existing defense plant consisting of 1.8 million square feet of abandoned structures into a retail shopping center. The project included the demolition of the abandoned structures, design and construction of a completely new infrastructure and constructing 850,000 square feet of retail space. This space includes a multiplex theater, a new home for Home Depot, Models, Staples, Borders Books and Prime Time Learning Center to mention a few. The coordinated efforts of architects, engineers, developers, property owner and municipal officials was coordinated by Savik & Murray, LLP.

	Activities Included:
	Inventory 1.8 Million Sq.Ft. of structures for asbestos and other hazardous materials Demolition of structures and infrastructure Development of a site plan to meet with the Town of Babylon's requests and requirements Provide expert witness testimony before the Town Board, Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals Preparation of Environmental Impact Statement Preparation of site plans for the 109 acre site Construction drawings including: Building locations Parking layout Internal road network Conklin Street realignment New Highway Improvements Traffic signals Utility improvements Water main extension Electric Gas Telephone Site inspection and construction management

 

 

Long Island MacArthur Airport
Town of Islip, New York

Provided survey, design and construction inspection services for numerous projects on the airfield including runway and taxiway rehabilitation, lighting, signage, drainage, paving, crack repair, obstruction removal and pavement markings.

Long Island Railroad Train Stations
Town of Islip, New York

Bayshore and Islip Railroad Stations - Provided survey and design services to rehabilitate the existing parking lots, sidewalks, lighting and landscaping. The project included installation of brick paver sidewalks, decorative lighting fixtures and recycled asphalt pavement.

Bayport Beach Bulkhead
Town of Islip, New York

	Provided survey, design and construction inspection services for the reconstruction of 1,500 linear feet of existing bulkhead.
The project included new vinyl bulkheading, decking, power pedestals, electrical work, water, paving, drainage and restoration.
	The existing road was raised and a new drainage swale was created to alleviate flooding and settle out pollutants.

 

 

 

Eastport/South Manor Secondary School
Manorville, New York

This project is a collaboration between numerous architectural and design firms. The construction of a secondary school for approximately 2,000-2,200 pupils in the newly established Eastport-South Manor Central High School District was approved in 1998. The construction area encompasses some 74 acres in which Savik & Murray, LLP. is responsible for all site work, including the following:
